Steve Wacker

Steve is a native of Northeast Philadelphia.  As a youth he played for FC Coppa which was the local premier club.  He was also a part of the United States Olympic Development Program (ODP) as a member of the state, regional and national teams.  He played his high school ball at one of Philadelphia’s most recognized high school soccer programs, Northeast Catholic.  At Northeast Catholic, Steve was named to the all-league team three times and was the league MVP, all-state selection, and All-American his senior season. 

Steve went on to continue his education and soccer career at Temple University, home of the Owls.  Steve graduated Temple in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science and a 3.9 GPA.  At Temple, Steve was rewarded for his excellence in the classroom being named ESPN the magazine academic All-American and Soccer Seven Student Athlete of the Year.  He was also named Temple University male athlete of the year his senior year.  For his hard work on the field, he was a three year captain, named to multiple Atlantic 10 all-league teams and an Adidas All-American.  While at Temple University, in 2004, Steve played for the South Jersey Barons PDL squad in one of the clubs most successful seasons.

Steve began his professional career in 2005 when he was drafted by his hometown Philadelphia Kixx.  He played with the Kixx from 2005-2008 and was a member of the 2007 National Championship team.

Steve has been with the SJ Elite Organization since its arrival and currently coaches the U9, U15 and U18 Girls Teams.  He is also the Assistant Coach of Saint Joseph's University Men's Soccer Team which is a Division 1 Program located in Philadelphia, PA.  Steve has coached and trained teams at several clubs in the Philadelphia and South Jersey Area and currently holds a USSF National "C" coaching license.  He resides in Northeast Philadelphia.
